It’s National Fire Prevention Week!
In light of the ongoing fires in Northern California, fire hazard mindfulness is of top priority this holiday season.
As the holidays quickly approach, the American Christmas Tree Association urges everyone to check their smoke alarms and be on the lookout for fire hazards. Christmas trees and other holiday decorations can make our homes beautiful, but they also increase the risk for fire. Fire deaths, injuries, and dollar losses increase significantly during the holiday season – so please be careful.
Here are some helpful tips:
· Be sure keep open flame candles, lighters or matches away from trees and other decorations
· Never leave an open flame unattended – even if just in another room
· Keep your Christmas tree watered throughout the entire season – dry and neglected trees are a fire waiting to happen
