2022 Christmas Tree Trends – Halloween and Fall Themed Trees

The American Christmas Tree Association (ACTA) recommends that consumers purchase their trees as early as possible this year to combat supply chain and inflation concerns. “While there may be enough trees for everyone who wants one, the options may be more limited. Our 2022 recommendation to consumers is straightforward: if you want a specific type, style, or size of the tree, artificial or live, find it early,” said Jami Warner, Executive Director of ACTA.

But buying a Christmas tree early doesn’t mean consumers have to wait to decorate. Consumers have been putting up their trees earlier this year and finding creative ways to display them ahead of the holiday season. Halloween and Fall themed trees have been trending on social media and are both great ways to invite the festive spirit into your home before Christmas.

Halloween Theme Christmas Trees

In 2021, consumers swapped their traditional red and green Christmas tree décor for orange, black, and purple. Halloween trees were all the rage, and in 2022, many consumers are opting back in for the black and white décor, orange tinsel, and Halloween theme ornaments ahead of the Christmas season.

Autumnal and Fall Theme Christmas Trees

As consumers look to purchase their Christmas trees early this year, Autumnal and Fall-theme trees have been gaining popularity across social media with the #FallChristmasTree trend.

“People are putting up fall Christmas trees, which is exactly what it sounds like: A traditional Christmas tree decorated with pumpkins, fall leaves, and all things buffalo check. Sign me up!” said Emily VanSchmus from Better Homes & Gardens.
